Terms of Use
These terms cover the Shotori app and its web version (the "Service"). You get the app from the Apple App Store, so Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies. These terms add to the EULA. If the two conflict, the EULA wins, except where these terms give you more rights.
1The Service
Shotori helps you practice photo composition with practice subjects in 3D sets or in AR on your own floor or table, and gives every shot a 0–100 score with coaching. You don't need an account, and your photos and progress are stored on your device.
- Free for everyone: lessons 1–3 of every course, free shooting in the park set, one daily mission, and share cards and challenge links.
- Scores are practice guidance. They don't guarantee any particular photography skill or result.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, or have a parent or guardian's permission and supervision. Purchases by minors need a parent or guardian's consent.
2Using Shotori fairly
- Don't use the Service to break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
- Don't modify, reverse-engineer or tamper with the app, or try to unlock paid features without buying them.
- The characters, sets, scoring rules and design belong to us and our licensors. The photos and share cards you make are yours to keep and share for personal use. Licenses for the 3D models, libraries and fonts are listed in Credits & Licenses.
3Shotori Pass, the Ad-free plan (auto-renewing subscriptions) and lifetime unlock
Shotori Pass is sold only inside the iPhone app, through Apple. It unlocks:
- lessons 4 and up in every course, PRO recipes, and every set and time of day
- new sets added over time, streak freeze, and an unlimited album
- no ads
The free iPhone app shows ads (see the Privacy Policy). The Ad-free plan, also sold only inside the iPhone app through Apple, removes the ads and nothing else: it doesn't unlock the Pass features above.
| Plans | Yearly: renews every year. New subscribers get a one-time 7-day free trial. Monthly: renews every month. No free trial. Lifetime: one payment, never renews. Unlocks the same features as the Pass. Ad-free (weekly): renews every week. Removes ads only. No free trial. |
|---|---|
| Price | You pay the price the App Store shows on the purchase screen. In the United States that's $39.99/year, $7.99/month or $79.99 once for the Pass, and $0.99/week for the Ad-free plan, plus any applicable tax. Prices in other countries may differ. |
| Payment | Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. With the free trial, nothing is charged during the 7 days. The yearly price is charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. |
| Auto-renewal | Your subscription renews automatically at the same price and for the same length unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. If the price ever changes, Apple will notify you in advance and ask for your consent where required. |
| Manage | Manage or cancel anytime in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions, or tap Manage subscription in the app. |
4Canceling, refunds and restoring
- Canceling: you can cancel anytime as shown above. You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. If you cancel during the free trial, you won't be charged. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a subscription.
- Refunds: Apple processes all payments, so refunds follow Apple's policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds ourselves.
- Restoring: on a new iPhone, or after reinstalling, sign in with the same Apple Account and tap Restore purchases.
5Packs from the earlier web beta
Packs you unlocked during the free web beta keep working in that browser on the web version. Because Shotori has no accounts, they can't be moved to Shotori Pass in the app.
6Changes to the Service
- We may add or change lessons, sets and scoring rules to make practice better. If a change takes away a paid feature, we'll tell you in the app at least 30 days before.
- If we ever have to shut the Service down, we'll give at least 30 days' notice in the app and explain how to request a refund for unused subscription time through Apple.
7Disclaimers and limits of liability
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
- To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer protection laws where you live.
- Stay safe in AR: watch your surroundings while you shoot. Don't use the camera mode near traffic, stairs or water.
8Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
9Disputes and governing law
If something goes wrong, please email us first. Most problems can be fixed quickly that way. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and you keep any rights the laws of your state of residence give you.
California users: under California Civil Code §1789.3, you can reach the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by phone at (800) 952-5210.
